Blog 4: The Allegory of the Cave through History

Many people believe that reincarnation is real. Not only is it in history but also in the present. When you have done good in your past life or you have done bad you will be reincarnated in a another living form. Per say, if I were filled with sin I’d be something of a lower form such as a cat or maybe another insignificant creature. If I were a good person I’d be reincarnated into something like another good human.
At times many people fall into this illusion because to know that you will continue to live or have lived before lures in a person and makes them feel more at comfort. Many people cling into this illusion due to lack of faith in a “personal God”. If you are familiar with Christianity there's a final judgment day many people are aware of. They tend to fear this due to their devious act. In order to fall from this thought they believe that reincarnation will place them in a fruitful or fruitless path. So they live out their lives depending on how they want to live later on.
Reincarnation is a way to justify a human’s behavior. There is something dreadful about following rules of a “God” or even the thought of believing that nothing is real such as Atheism. The fear of death and even the fear of your loved one being dead is a striking feeling. And can alter your way of being but if you believe that reincarnation will defeat death and will place your loved ones where they deserve to be, that will be a much rather comforting though than thinking he or she went to hell or that nothing happens after death. Ingrid Van Mater mentioned how “reincarnation implies that there is an immortal part of us that survives death. “ There is a lot of truth to this quote, because in the end humans look for comfort in the darkest hole just to make tragedies better.
Even though we all look for reassurance or soothing we can all rely in these illusions as a coping system. Believing in God is no less than believing that we will be reincarnated. Its all a way to see light. We are filled with life, a life everyone wants to immortality live.
